Katarina Tu, DDS
Dr. Tu is originally from Seattle, and initially pursued a career in architecture at UC Berkeley where she was also a coxswain on the NCAA winning women’s crew team. After a year she changed paths and returned home where she completed a double degree in biochemistry and chemistry as a Dean’s scholar at the University of WA. She went to UOP for dental school and completed an extra year of advanced training afterwards, where she earned the outstanding resident award. During this time she picked up a new hobby and completed 8 half marathons in a single year.
She believes in providing quality patient care, and is pursuing a fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry, an award that recognizes going above and beyond in learning through rigorous continuing education. She is also a dedicated volunteer, giving back through outreach events and dental mission trips across the world. Despite having grown up in Seattle, she wants everyone to know she is a loyal 49ers fan.
Richard Lee, DDS
Dr. Richard Lee is a 1996 graduate of the College of Dentistry at New York University. During his senior year at NYU, Dr. Lee was among those who were selected to take part in the intensive Fixed Prosthodontics Honor Program. After completing a one-year general practice residency at Mount Sinai Hospital, he returned to NYU and pursued advanced training in dentistry. He received a certificate in Advanced Postgraduate Studies in Prosthodontics and Surgical Fellowship on Implant Dentistry at NYU. He also participated in various research projects and presented several clinical papers at various dental conferences. He was a recipient of the Klien Kicker Award for Outstanding Achievement, which is bestowed on those who complete specialty training in dentistry.
One of Dr. Lee's mentors is the world-renowned implantologist, Dr. Dennis Tarnow. Dr. Tarnow advocates the importance of dual training in Implant Dentistry because he believes that a dentist who specializes in implant restoration will also place implants in proper positions.
Dr. Lee, who also served as an assistant clinical professor in Dr. Tarnow's Implant Department for 10 years, has been at the cutting edge of research and new developments in dentistry. He has relocated to the Bay Area after owning and operating a very successful specialty practice in Madison Avenue, New York City.
Josepf Huang, DDS
A former New Yorker, Dr. Huang received his dental degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and subsequently advanced specialty training in the field of Periodontics at New York University College of Dentistry.
Dr. Huang has been a friend and a collaborator with Dr. Richard Lee since they were studying at NYU. He firmly believes that a synergistic and symbiotic, multi-specialty partnership would result in better patient treatment, communication, and improved oral health.
Dr. Huang is currently an assistant professor at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. He also maintains several private practice locations in the East Bay and the South Bay.
